Jack was my best friend, we graduated in 1966 from Santa Ana Valley High. Three of us hung around all of the time, Jack had a great 57 Chevy that was his pride and joy. Jack could bring a smile to anyone no matter what the situation. We had decided before graduation that we would attend the Chrysler education program or join the military. Chrysler cancelled their program so we signed up for the military. Jack went with the US Army - his dad was in that branch. Bob Erskine and I joined the Air Force. I learned of Jack's death while serving on Guam. I think of Jack almost every day ... and have visited the Wall in DC and escorted the moving wall (hundreds of Harley Davidsons participate) when it comes to Brevard County, Florida, in Jack's honor. I moved to Florida from California in 2000 and today I found an entry on the VVMF site by his niece Kari-Ann Howard. I would sure like to tell her what a great friend and person Jack was ... I will always miss him.
