H CO, 2ND BN, 5TH MARINES, 1ST MARDIV
From Danville, Virginia
07 October 1948 - 07 December 1968
I remember when all the other kids in the neighborhood made fun of the younger ones, like me and Tommy Holland, and how you made us feel special, like we were just as special as everyone else. I remember roller bat, shooting basketball, softball, riding bikes, and touch football. I also remember your smile. I remember the day Mama told me you were gone ... I cried and cried. Now whenever I'm near a memorial I make sure your name is listed. I've rubbed your name on The Wall. Your name is at the Tank Museum. Your name is the memorial at Dan Daniels Park. And your name is in my heart. Thanks for your service and for being my "other big brother".
