On October 20th, 2005 it will be 40 years since you left us. Your grandson found this site and now gives me a chance to let you know how much you are missed. The son you were waiting for was born 5 days after you were taken from us. Mark Allen is with you now, he died August 31st, 2001. Please take care of him. You have four grandchildren - Michael, Melissa, Marilyn and Morgan. You would have loved them all. Your other son is doing well and lives in New Hampshire. You will never know how much you are missed even after 40 years. Love You, Jackie

We never had the chance to meet, but your memories live on through your family, your son Leonard and your grandchildren, Marilyn and Morgan. I know you are very proud of how he has turned out. Boy, he looks so much like you! Your granddaughter, Marilyn made a poster in your memory for a school project and it was hung proudly for all to see, now we hang it in our home. I know you have your arm around your other son, Mark. Please tell him we love him and miss him. Lenny thinks of you often, especially before NASCAR starts and they have the Air Force fly overhead, we stand proudly for the National Anthem with you in our hearts. Someday we will meet, for that I can't wait!

A Note from The Virtual WallThe Special Forces Camp at Plei Me had been attacked by an estimated enemy regiment during the night. Shortly after daybreak it appeared that the enemy had broken contact. Two medevac helicopters from the 498th Med Company with two armed escorts from the 119th Assault Helicopter Company were launched to recover the dead and wounded. During the mission the aircraft received heavy automatic weapons fire up to 20mm size. One of the escort gunships was hit and crashed in flames just outside the southwest perimeter of the camp.The four men who died when their UH-1B Huey (hull number 64-00135) was shot down were
